Card scrapers are the tool of choice when working with tear-out prone wood that will not respond well to a plane or when smoothing a finish between coats. While not typically an item used everyday, it is a tool that when you need it, nothing else will do. Our Card Scraper Set comes with two scraper blades (1 x thin blade and 1 x thick blade) and a storage pouch.
We make our scraper blades from the same high carbon tool steel we use for our saw blades. Our Thin Card Scraper is 6 inches (152mm) x 2-1/2 inches (63mm). The blade is .020 inches (5mm) thick, making for a very supple scraper. Our Thick Card Scraper is 6 inches (152mm) x 2-1/2 inches (63mm). The blade is .035 inches (.9mm) thick, making for a stiff scraper. The blades have been milled flat (better than +/- .001) and square on both of their long edges, and are ready for you to polish and turn a burr.

Probly the best set of scrapers out there. They come real close to use right out of the mail box if you need light shavings then they are ready without doing anything to them. And the shipping was extremely fast. Will definitely buy from Rob again. I just bought a wood river jack plane so in the future I plan on getting the adjustar and the ibc blade set from Rob.

Having a card scraper that starts out flat is a great place to start. A little polish and rolling a wee burr creates a perfect shaving. Up until now my scrapers are laying around my shop. These and the carry case are now in my shop apron and treated like sharp instruments.
